I want your 8th, 9th, 10th or 11th grader to feel like an English reading and writing expert and to be seen as a star in their classroom. I have seen my students eventually help others in the classroom with English! To do that, I start with building up their vocabulary, grammar and paragraph writing skills. For example, Thai & Bahasa have no verb tenses or plural nouns but English does and this makes learning English difficult! I teach students the four most common grammatical errors so that their writing and speaking skills often get them into the top 10% of their classroom. Also, in every tutoring class, I assign reading of international English which is super important. A student learns sentence structure, vocabulary and grammar from well written articles even though they may not even know they are doing this! I choose articles mostly based on the student’s interests from The New York Times, The Economist, The Guardian and Harvard Business Review.
